Jonah Hex Trailer

Here's the Jonah Hex trailer...jam packed with Megan Fox's shitty acting.

Movie Review: Avatar (on Blu-ray)

Staring: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, Michelle Rodriguez
Rated PG-13

I happily proclaim that I did not see Avatar at the theater. So, out of sheer morbid curiosity and constant harassment by my friends, I rented Avatar on Blu-ray. I think my husband summed the movie up nicely with three simple words: LIVE-ACTION FURNGULLY.

The visuals and special effects of this movie kick-ass, and the Blu-ray definitely improves it. The only drawback is that there are parts of the CGI that end up looking extremely fake due to the colors being so

Bring Out Your Spares!!!!

Marvel Studios is debating whether or not to do some "small scale" superhero movies:
"Filmmakers are being offered their pick of characters whose names are only familiar to comic fans. Properties like Dr. Strange, Ka-Zar, Luke Cage, Dazzler and Power Pack are among the many that are being tossed around right now. And the attitude seems to be that Marvel is open to bringing any of their characters to the screen at the right price point.

This plan allows Marvel much more flexibility; a 100 million dollar Dazzler movie makes no sense, but one budgeted at 25 million - done right - could be a moneymaker. And at a lower budget these movies don't need to be quite so mainstream. A 20 million dollar film can take much bigger risks than one that costs a hundred million more than that."
I could see Dr. Strange bringing in the money...but Dazzler?  Who the hell would go see that?

An Islamic website, RevolutionMuslim.com, has made threats against Matt Stone and Trey Parker over the use of Muhammed in the 200th episode.

The author of the website, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, has stated that these are not threats...yet he posted their work address.  The webiste has since been taken down.  There has been no comment made by Comedy Central or Matt and Trey.

Creepy Tiger Woods Commercial

A few days ago, Nike aired it's new commercial with Tiger 'Can't Keep His Dick in His Pants' Woods.  This is the first commercial Tiger has been in, not counting all the ET, E News and TMZ previews, since the sex scandal broke in November.  The voice in the commercial is Tiger's dad, Earl Woods. He died back in 2006.  If you haven't seen it, here it is:

I had originally planned a long post about this...but I don't know now if I feel like doing it or not.  I may end up doing a review on it as a joke.

Riddick Concept Art

Facebook is a wonderful thing.  With it, Vin Diesel is able to share with us concept art from the third Riddick movie.  The art work is by Patrick Tatopoulos, and David Twohy will be writting/directing the movie.  The plot is generic:  Riddick is left on a world to die...yadda, yadda, yadda...fight alien creatures & deal with bounty hunters.

DO NOT WANT: Johnny English Sequel

Universal Pictures and Working Title Films are working on a Johnny English sequel.  Rowan Atkinson will return as the title character.  Johnny English was a box office dud here in the States, but did well over in Europe.  Why the hell can Atkinson do a Black Adder movie?!?!  That would be a hundred times better.

Halo Movie Still a Possibility

There is still talk going on about the possiblilty of a Halo movie...aside for the one from the April Fools joke.  It came somewhat close to happeing back in 2006, with Peter Jackson production and Neill Blomkamp s director.  Here is what Frank O'Connor had to say last week at the MI6 Conference in San Francisco:

"We're going to make a movie when the time is right," he said. "We own the IP. If we want to make a movie, the scale of all the other stuff that we do changes dramatically. We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially. We have some numbers if we do a movie, but it changes everything. It also changes our target and age demographic."

Toxic Avenger Remake...NOOOO!!!!

Here comes another remake...this time of Troma classic The Toxic Avenger.  Akiva Goldsman, Richard Saperstein and Charlie Corwin are producing it.  Now, one might ask how someone can ruin this one.  Well, here's your answer:
"The group intends to turn Toxie into a green superhero for these environmentally conscious times...The remake will be mounted as a family friendly PG-13 action comedy akin to The Mask, which Saperstein worked on when he was a New Line exec. It's his second Troma remake property, as Saperstein is teamed with Brett Ratner on a Mother's Day redo that was directed by Darren Bousman."
The remake deal includes four sequels, a cartoon show, and a comic book series.  Holy Crap Batman....that sounds totally stupid!  The great thing about the original movies was the deranged violence.  I don't see thing being kid friendly.

Also...as I recall, the cartoon and comic book have been done before in the past.  The Toxic Crusaders aired in 1991.  It came on after Swamp Thing and the original TMNT.  Yes...I'm old.  The comic book was publised by Marvel from 1991 to 1992.

Totally Random: Sylar vs. Joel McHale

Hugh Jackman and...Chin Testicles??? WTF???

The Farrelly Brothers have run out of ideas since they are ripping off  Peter from Family Guy.  Their current project is an anthology made up of short films.  One of the films supposedly features Hugh Jackman as a man with balls under his chin going on a date with Kate Winslet's character.  Hmm...almost sounds like a Will Ferrell movie to me.  I know the Farrelly Brothers have more creative talent than this.  This is just pathetic.

Prince of Persia Featurette

Being that the plot of the Prince of Persia movie utterly confusing/weird to anyone who hasn't played the game, here is a storyline featurette that explains everything.  It's pretty sad that they have to tell you everything before hand so you'll go watch the movie.

Weekend Box Office: April 2-4 2010

1.  Clash of the Titans  $61.2 Million

2.  Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?   $29.2 Million

3.  How to Train Your Dragon  $29 Million

4.  The Last Song  $16 Million

5.  Alice in Wonderland  $8.2 Million

LOTR on Blu-Ray Today

Good news LOTR nerds fans:  the Lord of the Rings Trilogy has been released on Blu-Ray.  However, before you start rejoicing, it is the theatrical version of the movies only.  The extended versions won't release until maybe 20011/2012.

Halloween 3D News

You would think that with Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 being so horendiously terrible that any thought of another Halloween move would be out the door.  Well, your wrong.  Leave it to Hollywood to beat a dead horse.

Patrick Lussier, who is currently filming Drive Angry, told MTV that he may not be involoved in Halloween 3D once he is done with his current project.  He had developed the story with Todd Farmer and pitched it to Demension Films.
"The film that we wrote took place, like, the next frame after Rob's 'Halloween II' ended and immediately went into stripping Michael Myers back to his John Carpenter roots," Lussier tells MTV. "That's what we did very quickly. And then you pick up the story a year later as Halloween rolls around again. Everybody's back in the fray. That was our goal."

Now, he says it's all a matter of timing and what the company wants to do.  He knows a sinking ship when he sees one.  I personally would like to see Halloween go back to the Carpenter version because Meyers's character was creepy.  However, I really don't see this project getting off the ground anytime soon, if at all.

APRIL FOOLS: Halo Movie Trailer

The mother of all game-based movies is here.  Here is the debut trailer for Halo.

Nice...um..Bird You Have There Mickey.

There were a few new images released yesterday from the upcoming Iron Man 2, and one seemed just a little bit odd.

The bird...okay, I sort of get that.  Mickey Rourke is weird in real life, so I guess that translates into movies as well.  But, WTF is that in his hand??  What's with the 90s reject phone...and what the hell is it plugged into??

A-Team Trailer 2

Here is the new A-Team trailer that was released today.  I have to agree with Katey Rich over at CinemanBlend.com:
"...based on the new trailer that debuted today at Apple.com, The A-Team is still going to be unbeatable in terms of sheer ridiculousness. It's rare to see an action movie that's both so insane and packed full of characters who so enjoy it being insane."
I hope that they will at least be able to hit the broad side of a barn in it...unlike the tv series.

Foolish TV Decisions
