Avengers Cast Announced by Samuel L. Jackson

I can only image how that when as he yelled out intos at the crowd, then launched into a rant about his past movies.  Actually, no I don't....Video NSFW

"Samuel L. Jackson surprised some 6,000 fans gathered for a Marvel Studios presentation when he stepped out just as it was ending and started introducing the cast of "The Avengers."

Jackson brought out stars Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johannson, Chris Hemsworth of "Thor" and Chris Evans of "Captain America."

He then introduced another surprise guest, Robert Downey Jr., who brought out the rest of the all-star cast, including Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner."

I'm not overall thrilled with their choice of Mark Ruffalo...but he couldn't be any worse than Edward Norton.  'The Avengers' is scehduled for a 2012 release.

The Empire's economy must be worse off than ours if their sending out Dark Vader to rob banks.  A man is a somewhat spiffy 'Darth Vader' costume robbed a bank on Long Island.  Customers thought it was a joke until he pulled out his lightsaber gun and demamded money.

EPIC FAIL - Twitard Accuses Univeral of Ripping Off Twilight

The 'Twitards' continue their attack on sanity and common sense. This time their target is Universal Studios and the movie 'Wolfman'. Their complaint: The werewolf concept was stolen from Twilight.

Epic Fail- Woman Claims Manga Put Son In Therapy

A Florida mother has been on a crusade to ban manga from her local library.  She claims that her son read Gantz and Psychic Academy and supposedly went nuts.  She said that "lost his mind when he found this" and " [now] he's in a home for extensive therapy".

"The manga Barbaree's son found was in the Crestview Public Library's general stacks. According to the Crestview News Bulletin, Barbaree said her son took the manga from the unsupervised stacks and put it in his backpack. Library Director Jean Lewis said that area was on a top shelf with other graphic novels and comic books not intended for young readers. Council President Charles Baugh Jr. visited the library the day after Barbaree's complaints and said the manga in the separate young adults section were appropriate."

I'm a big fan of Gantz and I seriously doubt that any of the content, while violent and disturbing, would make someone go crazy.  I see plenty worse on primetime television.  If she was a good, resposible mother she would have been supervising her son and not have let him get anyting from the mature section of the library.  In my opintion, the only reason the kids in therapy is because she probably molests him on a regular basis.

Some British Guy is the New Spider-Man

Andrew Garfeild is virtualy unknown in mainstream Hollywood...which makes him a shoe-in to star in the crap-tastic reboot of the Spider-Man franchise.

"On selecting Garfield, director Marc Webb said, “Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.” "

There are several of other comments made by the producers making this guy sound like the second coming of Christ.  The movie itself has been pushed back to a July 3, 2012 release, and started production back in December.

Paris Hilton Busted for Pot in South Africa

Paris Hilton has been detained in South Africa after being busted for pot.

"A local radio station in Johannesburg said Hilton was detained outside the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, following the quarterfinal match between Brazil and Netherlands.

A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Hilton was caught with an unspecified amount of marijuana.

"She was found in possession of some amount of dagga," the officer said, using the local name for marijuana. "We don't know how much. It's a high profile person, only the top cops are dealing with it," he said."

 I find it sad that people have to be stoned to enjoy the Wold Cup.

Movie Review: Unthinkable

Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Michael Sheen

I wasn't too sure what to think of this one when I fist saw the trailer for it. The premise looked interesting, but I wasn't prepared for how far it went. I don't usually do a play by play of movies, but I have to with this one...so there are major spoilers.

The focus of the movie was about a converted Muslim man, Yunger (Sheen), who placed nuclear bombs in three cities in the U.S. He releases a tape to the media admitting what he has done, asks for demands

I was hoping to be at least somewhat entertained by this, being that there hasn't been a Tim Burton movie I didn't like. I was sorely mistaken.

The only thing this movie really had going for it was the scope of the sets. Visually they were stunning, like all of his movies. However, about half of it was CIG...and poor CGI at that. After about 20 minutes in Wonderland, everything looked like crap and the novelty wore off.
