Epic Fail- Woman Claims Manga Put Son In Therapy

A Florida mother has been on a crusade to ban manga from her local library.  She claims that her son read Gantz and Psychic Academy and supposedly went nuts.  She said that "lost his mind when he found this" and " [now] he's in a home for extensive therapy".

"The manga Barbaree's son found was in the Crestview Public Library's general stacks. According to the Crestview News Bulletin, Barbaree said her son took the manga from the unsupervised stacks and put it in his backpack. Library Director Jean Lewis said that area was on a top shelf with other graphic novels and comic books not intended for young readers. Council President Charles Baugh Jr. visited the library the day after Barbaree's complaints and said the manga in the separate young adults section were appropriate."

I'm a big fan of Gantz and I seriously doubt that any of the content, while violent and disturbing, would make someone go crazy.  I see plenty worse on primetime television.  If she was a good, resposible mother she would have been supervising her son and not have let him get anyting from the mature section of the library.  In my opintion, the only reason the kids in therapy is because she probably molests him on a regular basis.
